The Synthetic Dream Foundation's newest album "Mechanical Serpent" is currently finished and being manufactured as you read this. The album is a stylistic continuation of the sound created during the last two albums, with a deft fusion of industrial, IDM, electronica, and orchestral music. The album features guest vocals by Marcela Bovio (Stream of Passion and The Gathering), Summer Bowman (the machine in the garden), Susan Siren, and Tamara Kent. The album is being released by Mythical Records, and will be shipping on Feb. 18th 2010. The album is currently in pre-order from both TSDF's and Mythical Record's websites for the price of $10. Ephemeral Mists is the newest side project by composer Brett Branning (The synthetic dream foundation & Abandoned Toys). The debut album, "Moon Ritual" is out now on Mythical records.

The sound of the project is best described as downtempo ambient electronics mixed with ethnic world musics in the vein of "Karma" era Delerium, Amethystium, and Dead Can Dance. Its really a very intoxicatingly beautiful creation and I highly recommend it to anyone into ambient music styles.

HeLLo & happy 2008!!

Just wondering if anyone can suggest artists that are working in electronic music that brings together the complexity of psychedelic sounds with the simplicity of electro....?

I'm asking because one of our members of 6362MetaForce - Zoe Wheeling'z - will be releasing her first EP via www.6362MetaForce.net in the next weeks, and it really calls out for "psy electro" classification - - it's definitely not psytrance, and it's more upbeat than psychill - it really is 'dance' music but with a little psy twist.

I don't even know if 'psy-electro' exists as a subgenre of electronica.... so i thought this might be a good place to ask. i love Zoe Wheeling'z sounds and we are looking forward to putting her work out - but after hearing her new stuff, now i'm hungry for more of the same!!

Any suggestions??

San Francisco, CA – August 17, 2007 -- Residents of London’s famed THE END and Ibiza’s renown Superfreq parties are coming to San Francisco. Mighty and Non-Fat present to you “The Superfreq Express” featuring the former member of The Shamen and “Tech House” originator/catalyst, MR.C; his protégé and esteemed producer, Adultnapper (Francis Harris); and the next big thing in Electro House – Dollz At Play. Featuring a feast of cosmopolitan, techno-electro, acid, minimal house and techno beats from legends and prodigies– this is a show San Francisco will never forget.

For over 5 years now, the Superfreq nights have been one of the best underground parties around the world continually challenging eclectic electro, house and minimal techno sounds. They currently run every Sunday at The End, as well as select North American dates with Made Event in New York & Miami with a new quarterly residency at Avalon Hollywood in Los Angeles. After three fantastic seasons in Ibiza, the party successfully migrated from club Underground to the legendary DC 10 last year and the mayhem is now fully underway every Wednesday this summer. In 2005, Superfreq Records was established with partner Luke vB and currently the label is establishing a firm foothold in the world of cutting edge electronic dance music while still retaining a serious element of fun inherent in the Superfreq mantra. On the production front Mr. C has teamed up with Brooklyn’s emerging talent the nefarious Adultnapper, under the guise of the Sycophant Slags.

A true pioneer of dance music Mr. C scaled pop culture heights with the psychedelic-influenced techno-rave act The Shamen in the 1990s as pioneers of the rock/dance crossover and harbingers of today’s scene. His devotion to underground dance music and ascension as tech-house doyen and co-owner of London’s popular The End nightclub has kept Mr. C at the top of his game and a mainstay of the global techno scene. "I phoned round the main movers and groovers in the tech-house scene and said, 'Look, if we all start using this word to create a genre for ourselves, the press can jump on it. All of a sudden we're going to be seen as the leaders of this music.' Sorry about the multiple postings, for some reason my previous two attempts ended up with empty postings. Grrr..... so now I am doing them one by one. =)

Norris and I had a blast at Motion Notion (Alberta, Canada) this year, the promoter James really out did himself and the weather was INTENSE but made for big adventures for sure.

We are now excited for our dub/glitch set at Shambhala (British Columbia, Canada) on the Beach stage on Saturday, and of course taking part in the Green Moon (Green Sector & Moon Tribe, hello turbo sound rig!!) camp at Burning Man (Nevada, USA) this August... now that's going to be one hot (+50 Celsius, zero humidity is the forecast) and dusty week in the desert. We will be wrapping up our summer festival season this year by playing at the Symbiosis gathering (California, USA) at the end of September so we are feeling very lucky for having so many incredible opportunities to play some tunes for folks.

We are VERY happy with how our set came together for this years Motion Notion festival, so we decided to record it afterwards here at home and post it up for others to enjoy. This year we were wedged between two full-on psy performers, with Wizzy Noise being the act to follow us, so our set was meant to be a roller coaster through driving minimal tech, progressive and full-on psy. Add to that the fact that our set started out with hot dry sky's filled with stars and ended during a MASSIVE rain/thunder storm with tornado warnings for the area in effect... talk about INTENSE!!!! In the end our laptop finally stopped working and our fear was that it had actually shorted out due to the rain but the next day it started up without a hitch which was a HUGE relief. Our goal was to keep everyone engaged, twist a few noodles and not burn people out on the full-on. From all the super-positive feedback I think we managed to kick some ass!! Many of the tracks are killer classics, with a few shinny new ones thrown in, and the overall flow is a bit of a journey so sit back and imagine the thunder clouds closing in from behind, and as the mix ends the rain is coming down with a vengeance and the clouds are swirling with the threat of tornadoes. They don't call us Sons of Aurora for nothing....

being aghast and tiring of the demise of good electronic music, i confess i haven't been listening to much of it (going back to '80s and '90s music--and non-electronic, at that)

Anyone have any recommendations? Someone/something fresh, exciting. The tragedy is nothing is really fresh and new anymore.

A bit of my electronic history: junglist, breaks, broken beats, uk garage (and i'm not ashamed to admit it!). Also enjoy IDM (archaic term!), turntablism.

Educational Tidbit: The name PsyMaTiX was inspired by Cymatics, the study of
wave phenomena. The word is derived from the Greek ‘Kyma’, meaning “wave”

We are filming our DVD on this Friday Nov. 17th at Fonda Music Box, and can’t wait to play our new songs and visual material for you! To make matters more wild, cool and unbelievable…we’re adding four amazing guest stars to our DVD shoot to join us onstage for some unprecedented magical musical mutations. Joining us onstage at the Fonda will be Los Angeles legends John Avila, Steve Bartok and Johnny “Vatos” Hernandez from Oingo Boingo!! As if that isn’t enough, we’ll sweeten the pot as joining all of us will be drumming legend Stephen Perkins from Jane’s Addiction/Banyan/Infectious Grooves/Method of Mayhem!!! Sunday: Bay Area Analogue Synth Gathering in Marin

Hi there... On Sunday, November 12th there will be a Bay Area analogue synth meet-up.These are great events where you can see some really cool analogue synth equipment and chat with the owners, and of course, get some tweak time on them (um, the synths, not the owners!!)

Expect some massive modular setups, and a lot of little quirky,strange, and homemade synths too. This is a great opportunity to see a bunch of esoteric synth gear that you could never find anywhere else in one place.

Of course, you are encourage to bring some gear, but it is certainly not required.

Analog Heaven - California announces its 2006 annual synth gathering to be held Sunday November 12 , 2006 at the Student Services Center of the College of Marin in Kentfield, CA. Doors open at 9:30 AM and the venue will be openuntil 8:00 PM. The event is free but there will be a donation bucket to+offsetpossible janitorial fees. Parking on campus on Sunday is free. Take out and delivered food can be brought to the venue. There are plenty ofplaces to get food within a few minutes of the campus. The campus prohibit salcohol.The 5000 square foot facility should have plenty of room for all but if you plan+to plug in , extension cords and outlet blocks are probably in order. Attendees should enter at Laurel Avenue and park in Lot 4 for load in and loadout. Very deep, dark and diiirty...

Exactly as my girl Irena ordered, each track and transition approved by her, this mix is deep, dark, dirty and very progressive. This mix was also VERY hard to compile, taking over 80 hours and four months. Compiling a cd with another person did make the process a long one, but it was also something we both really enjoyed. As well, this version is an edited master, my mixer is on the fritz and once I get it repaired a new unedited final mix will be posted.

This is a 3-day camping event with three different stages that will run non-stop. We have a cast of over 80 djs playing this event being flow in from all over the country. 2 stages will play Trance/DnB/House/Breaks. Indoor/outdoor Venue on a lake. The 3rd stage will play nothing but psytrance it’s a beautiful outdoor stage with some wild deco and video projections by Dr. Spook both nights. A huge bonfire right on the psytrance stage. Gel-Sol seeks new label....

Yo....looking for any help/advice.

I released my debut album, "Music Made For You...And By You I Mean Me," on the Nottingham, UK based label em:t records, and planned to release my second album, "Unifactor" on em:t, but I was informed last week that the label can no longer afford to release albums. I have retained all the rights to the music, so I basically have 2 albums to offer, with a third album on the way this fall.

The music itself, is kind of an ambient/experimental/idm hybrid, a mixture of swirling ambience and heavily-layered rhythms.

Both of my albums are mastered and have artwork. The first album was released as "1104" on em:t records and was distributed through Arabesque in the UK and is sold on Itunes. 1104 sold out of its initial pressing of 1000, and overall received extremely good reviews.

I have played a few big festivals in the UK, including the Big Chill and the Masterpeace Festivals, as well as some smaller fests in the USA. I take a completely improvised approach to my live performances, so each show is unique and recorded for archival purposes. Right now, alot of my live material is "research" for my next album, called "Terramecha."

I am also very interested in doing remix work, and have done a few remixes in the past.
